The 2022 Washington State Legislative Session will be one of the most important in years for insurance issues. As a result of the pandemic, our state capitol will again be closed this session to the public so we will not be able to hold our Day at the Capitol in-person so we will hold it virtual again.

IIABW is again providing this webinar at no cost to IIABW members as a benefit of membership. Two CEs have been approved for the event.

Our two-hour webinar will feature presentations by

Senator Mark Mullet and Rep. Steve Kirby, who are the chairs of the Senate and House committees which oversee insurance policy and regulations.
Rep. Chris Corry, who serves on the House insurance committee and also works for Parker Smith & Feek insurance brokerage.
Washington State’s Lt. Governor Denny Heck, who is a former U. S. Congressman who serviced on the U. S. House of Representatives insurance committee
Bill Stauffacher, IIABW’s lobbyist

Issues which will be discussed includes:

An update on the OIC rulemaking for credit scoring and bills introduced in the state legislature to regulate it.
A review of the different proposals to change the new Washington Cares Act (long-term care insurance program and tax)
An analysis of a proposal by the OIC to create new regulations on the insurance industry on cybersecurity.
An update on other insurance bills being considered by the legislature, including Auto repair/OEM parts, Peer-to-peer auto sharing insurance, etc.
