Natural Hazards, Apps and Legislation
Cochrane & Co., IIABW and WSRB will be hosting a 3 hour, 3 CE class in 7 locations around Washington state from March 31-April 16. We are providing the class at no cost.
  • Scott Elliott of WSRB will discuss underwriting for natural hazards in Washington and how to use data to better understand the risk. He will review the different hazards and liability exposures with examples and videos to illustrate. He will also share case studies and demos of underwriting products they offer.
  • Veronica Stevens of Cochrane & Co. and LeAnne Tope of Marsh McLennan will lead a presentation, “kNOw Crap Apps,” which will look at the basics of a submission and how applications can fall short.  They will share the ABCs of building a great application so it can get to the top of your underwriters’ stacks.
  • Dan Holst of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of WA will lead a discussion on the bills that passed (and those that didn’t pass) this year’s state legislative session. We will cover agent restitution and penalties, wildfire and rate transparency, third-party litigation funding and taxes.
